New Classes

Book by levels!

We have made adjustments to our Spring term courses based on the progress of our students. Our Beginner 1-3 programs are highly regarded in London and come with a wealth of learning resources designed to support early stage learners. There are no changes to this program. Elementary has been extended to 1-4 terms, with each lesson being 1.5 hours long. One lesson is focused on learning, another on fluency practise and Hanzi. Similarly, Intermediate has been extended to 1-4 terms with each lesson being 1.5 hours long. There are no changes to the Upper Intermediate to HSK 6 program, only lessons are changed to 1.5 hours instead. You might find extra classes provided as bespoke to certain classes. New students can also join these classes after our level assessment.

Our New Home

Just 1 mins outside of Aldgate East Station, Aldgate Tower is where you will go

Why are we moving?

After five years in our current location, we are excited to announce that we are moving! Our new home will have great facilities and a fantastic central location. We have found just the right place at Aldgate Tower, which is located right outside Aldgate East station. As members of the Beyond Space, we will have access to 23 rooms in the building for our lessons. This move represents a significant upgrade and improvement for our students. Changes are happening swiftly, with the move taking place right after the Easter holiday break. We will be following up with a visit guide soon to ensure a smooth transition for everyone.

Q&As

If you have any questions, we have provided answers to the most common ones here. However, if your question is not answered here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

Q:  Why are you changing Level 2 onward courses to 1.5 hours?

A:We have decided to reduce the length of our lessons to 1.5 hours in the evenings for several reasons. Firstly, this time frame is optimal for many students, as it allows for a focused learning experience without becoming too overwhelming. Additionally, it’s more manageable to balance learning and practicing time within 1.5 hour lessons, rather than longer lessons that require additional breaks.

Furthermore, reducing the lesson length is also economical for us, given that the venue hire costs have more than doubled. By reducing the booking time, we can still provide our students with access to the new beautiful Aldgate center while keeping our costs under control.

Q:  Why are beginner courses remain the same?

A: After careful consideration, we have decided to keep our Beginner courses as they are. Our programs have been thoroughly trialed and tested over many years, and we are confident in their effectiveness. We have received strong feedback from our students, and we believe that maintaining the current structure of the courses will continue to serve our students well.

We remain committed to providing high-quality language learning experiences, and we will continue to review and improve our courses as necessary. Thank you for your trust in us, and we look forward to continuing to support your language learning journey.

Q:  Why are you dropping your prices?

A: Although we have reduced the overall lesson hours, we assure you that we have not compromised on the quality of our teaching. By reducing the lesson hours, we have also decided to reduce the overall prices. We believe that our students will appreciate this and be happy to continue learning with us.

We understand that learning is one of the best self-investments, and we want to make sure that you have invested in the right place by choosing us. Our commitment to providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences remains unchanged, and we look forward to continuing to support your language learning journey.

Q:  Why are you moving?

A:While we have had an amazing five years at our current Monument building, we had to find a new home due to a significant increase in venue hire costs. As much as we loved our old location, we simply cannot absorb such costs. However, every change brings new opportunities, and we are excited to announce that we have found an even better home.

Our new center, located at Aldgate Tower, offers abundant facilities, and there will never be a capacity issue. Additionally, we are thrilled to inform you that Practical Mandarin is part of Dear Asia London, which means that our Japanese lessons and Korean lessons will be held at the same venue.

If your friends are interested in learning Japanese or Korean, they are welcome to join us. We believe that this shared learning space will provide a unique and enriching experience for all of our students. Thank you for your continued trust in us, and we look forward to seeing you at our new center.

Q:  When is it happening?

A:We are excited to move into our new center at Aldgate Tower, and we have to make the transition swiftly due to our contract terms. Our Easter courses will commence from the week of April 11, and all lessons, including those from the New Year term, will be held at our new venue.

We understand that this may cause some inconvenience due to the short notice. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding during this transition period. Our team is working diligently to ensure a smooth transition and to provide the best possible learning experience for our students.

Q:  What else do I need know?

A: We will send our detailed video guide to you before your visit to our new home! Everything will be crystal clear, and we will have receptions on your first day of visit. After your first visit, you will know what to do, and where to go. Simple!

Q:  Will you change venue again soon?

A: If you have this question, it means that you are planning to learn with us for a long time, and we thank you for that! Many of our students have been with us for years, and we believe that learning is a journey. We are glad that you have chosen to be on this journey with us.

In the near future, we plan to build our own permanent home. This is a commitment we have made to ourselves, as we have devoted our work to this company and this community for a long time. We will continue to do our best to provide the best learning experience for our students and to build an even brighter future for our school.
