Intermediate Courses

Curriculum

The Intermediate level has 3 courses of 12 lessons each. Our curriculum is set based on Chinese HSK Level 3, where more complex grammatical structures like verb complements, sentences of 把，被, and use of adverbs for tones of voice etc are covered. This is the level to tackle all of your grammar questions, leaving no puzzles behind. There are further 300+ new words included in the curriculum.

The topics covered are useful and mostly about events and memories happened in your life, we have invited 20 native speakers to tell their stories on these topics such as my cooking skills, my previous colleague, things I’m proud of, my career choice and my changes over the years etc, and you will learn from their natural native language to tell your own stories.

Training modules

Intermediate is the level where you want to feel confident to engage in a prolonged conversations, where you can give more details and examples, and most importantly, you can narrate a relatable event that happened to you or that you know of. It’s a step up from Elementary’s brief short conversational skills, it’s more challenging but a crucial step in your Mandarin learning. The key modules are Vocab Workshop 词, Grammar Workshops 法, Story Telling 讲，Conversation Flow 谈, Drama Club 看 and Reading Club 读. Chinese Characters 字 are also taught in this course.

Learning content

For learning material, we use HSK Standard Course Book Level 3 to set the curriculum and for reading, while all other tutorial presentations, learning assessment games, fluency practice worksheet and immersive videos are all originally developed by PM academic team, and are exclusive to our students.
