ABOUT THE COURSE
Curriculum
The Elementary course has 2 sets of 20 lessons each. Our curriculum is set based on new 2021 Chinese HSK Level 2 standard, where basic to complex grammatical structures and roughly 450 new words will be broken down to 40 lessons, making each lesson easy to follow, and logical to scale fold.
- Elementary 1.0 for students with 200+ words, to learn result complements in Chinese
- Elementary 2.0 for students with 300+ words, to learn degree complements in Chinese
- Elementary 3.0 for students with 350+ words, to learn direction complements and tricky adverbs in Chinese
- Elementary 4.0 for students with 400+ words, to learn complements of state and tricky adverbs in Chinese
The topics covered in this course are useful and based on real life, such as inviting friends for dinner, talking about your CV, booking a hotel, buying tickets, even ordering your type of coffee or bubble tea, you will also practise on conversation flows on topics like personal events, travelling experience, profession, family or other topic of interest.
Training modules
This course is designed with a focus to engage students to learn and practise daily conversational skills, ie asking questions and giving brief answers. This is a step up from beginners’ self introduction skill, initiating a conversation while understanding the answers from native speakers is the new skill being trained on in this level. Therefore, the key modules are Vocab Workshop 词, Grammar Workshop 法, Picture Talk 说, Conversation Flow 谈, Review Podcast 听, Real Life Stories 看. Chinese Characters 字 are also taught in this course.
Learning content
For learning material, we use our Total Fluency Course workbooks which include all the training modules, in class – effective tutorials, learning games and fluency practice will be carried out in groups; after class – review podcasts for immersion and assessments for homework will be assigned. All are only available here for PM students.
