How to Prepare for HSK Level 1 Test

What is HSK and what is HSK level 1?
HSK is the official Chinese (Mandarin) Proficiency Test and it has 6 assessment levels. To be able to study and work in China, HSK Certificates are essential! HSK level 1 is the innitial proficiency level according to International Chinese Proficiency Standards.

Is it difficult?
The answer is NO! The HSK (Level I) assesses test takers’ abilities in the application of everyday Chinese (Mandarin). It is the counterpart of the Level I of the Chinese Language Proficiency Scales for Speakers of Other Languages and the A1 Level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEF). You only need to know about 150 words.

What does the test involve?
HSK (Level I) test is made up of listening comprehension and reading comprehension sections and contains a total of 40 items. The total duration for the test is only 40 mins (less than any lesson, including most gym classes).

How do I prepare for it?

It is intended for students who have studied for half an academic year, with 2-3 class hours in each week.
