Deanna represents a good number of our students whose family background links with China. Being able to speak some Cantonese already, Deanna makes it a mission to acquire Mandarin fluency alongside her university studies. She started from Entry Beginner course to get the most important phonetic training, which she finds very helpful to tune her ears and understanding from Cantonese to Mandarin effectively. Her goal is to be able to travel in China speaking Mandarin in a couple of years time, and to potentially find work in Asia after graduation.
